Who am I?

I'm Jake, a software developer with a passion for authenticity.

I grew up playing games - it's how I bonded with my brothers and even my parents sometimes. Gaming for me has always been a beautiful and expressive art form, in which developers can truly push the boundaries with innovative ideas, wacky art styles, and deeply emotional scenes. However, I've started to notice that games are becoming less and less fun, and maybe it's just because I'm getting old, but maybe it's because there's a missing ingredient.

Games shouldn't be about repeat subscriptions, loot boxes, microtransactions, paid DLCs, extortionate cosmetics, or satisfying shareholders. That, to me, seems a sure-fire way to create a money-grabbing product disguised and marketed as a game. My motivation is creating things I want to play myself. I want to ignite the spark in other people that was ignited in me as a child when I played my first Zelda game.

Whether it's tiny little browser games, or aspirational RPGs, I want to create things that I can truly take pride in. That's my goal, and I hope you enjoy my wholegrain games as much as I enjoyed baking them!
